On Sunday, February 23, an Installation ceremony of local Polish National Alliance (PNA) Councils and Lodges took place. The event was held at the PNA Council 122 Banquet Hall in Hamtramck. The oath to office was given by the officers and members of the board of Council 122, Lodge 1246, Lodge 1758 and Lodge 439 (Council 15).
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by a special guest of the event, PNA National Vice President - Paul Odrobina. He congratulated all the elected officers and reminded the crowd that PNA is one of the oldest Polish fraternal organizations in the United States (it celebrates 134th birthday this year). The success and longevity of PNA and local Council and Lodges, according to Odrobina, is an effect of our common ideals. “Our heritage brings us together,” said Odrobina.
After delicious dinner, a keynote address was presented by the Piast Institute President, Dr. Thaddeus Radzilowski. He spoke on the subject of the newest Piast’s project - the Polish American Communication Initiative (www.paciconnect.org).
The Polish National Alliance was founded in 1880 in Philadelphia. Since its inception, it has been providing insurance and protection and fraternal benefits to its members. For more information, visit www.pna-znp.org
