"Museum Alive" is held in Minto, North Dakota every other year as a community celebration and fundraiser for the Walsh County Historical Museum. The museum is one of the "best kept secrets" of Walsh County. The former Minto High School Building is the home of this amazing museum. As part of the "Museum Alive" festivities, the PNA Dancers of Warsaw Lodge 3043 took part in the city-wide parade and then provided the audience with a colorful display of regional dances from Poland. The dancers are under the new direction of Dustin Riskey and Joan Kerian, assisted by Sandra Schuster, PNA Director. Director Sandra Schuster and Commissioner Gary Babinski represented Lodge 3043 in the parade. The convertible vehicle, owned by Jim Gudajtes, was driven by Lodge members Mary Alice Gudajtes Corah and Margie Gudajtes Gourde.
A new feature of "Museum Alive" was an ANTIQUE TRACTOR RIDE which originated at the "Jim Gudajtes Farm" - 6 miles east of the town of Minto. Jim is the President of Lodge 3043. Anyone with an antique tractor was invited to be part of the "parade of tractors" which then joined in the Minto City parade later that day.
Minto, North Dakota is proud of its Polish Heritage and Lodge 3043 is well supported by community members throughout the year at various Lodge activities and fundraisers.
Annual Golf Event Celebrates 10 Years
Summer would not be complete without the annual "PNA Golf Open" at Fair Oaks Golf Course in Grafton, North Dakota. It was a picturesque North Dakota evening and more than 80 members and guests enjoyed the "10th Annual" affair. Proceeds from the tournament fund scholarships and special Lodge activities throughout the year.
Roger Schuster, Lodge Vice President, was event chairman, assisted by District 14 Commissioner Gary Babinski, Director Sandra Schuster, Lodge President James Gudajtes, and Council member Gary Slominski. The lodge provided PNA inscribed golf tees and "Na Zdrowie" can coolies to all registered golfers. There were also door prizes donated by Chris Misialek of the Minto Harvey Avenue Saloon. Several team and individual award plaques and golf balls were once again provided by the PNA Sports and Youth Department in Chicago, Illinois.
A heartfelt "Thanks" to ALL participants for their generous support of the PNA, and especially our "Hole Sponsors." The Lodge activity gives great visibility in the community for Lodge 3043. This successful tournament encourages participation by many young adult PNA members. All golfers were treated to a "barbecued meal" at the Harvey Avenue Saloon in Minto, following the presentation of the tournament awards.
