125th Anniversary of Lodge 513 Wallingford

125 Years of Service, Tradition, and Commitment!

On June 21, 2025, the Polish National Alliance Lodge 513 of Wallingford, CT, proudly celebrated its 125th anniversary, an incredible milestone marked by distinguished guests, proud members, and a devoted community. President Frank Spula and National Secretary Alicja Kuklinska were in attendance, representing the Home Office in Chicago.

The celebration began in the beautifully decorated clubroom with hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and music by Bernie Gagliardi on piano. Guests then gathered under a white-top tent adorned with red and white floral arrangements, miniature Polish flags, and a special 125th Anniversary flag. Inside the hall, a historical exhibit honoring Lodge 513’s legacy was thoughtfully prepared by committee members AnnMarie Zielinski, Vicky Zolkiewicz-MacInnis, Maja Laska-Graham, and others.

The formal ceremony began with patriotic music by Eddie Forman’s band, followed by an invocation prayer from Father Ron Zepecki. Master of Ceremonies Edward Zavaski welcomed attendees and introduced a series of special guests. Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz spoke of the PNA’s cultural importance across Connecticut, while U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal praised the organization as a symbol of the American dream. Wallingford Mayor Vincent Cervoni and Meriden Mayor Kevin Scarpati both commended the PNA for its long-standing commitment to the local community.

Representatives from the PNA’s national leadership then took the stage. President Spula highlighted the Wallingford lodge’s dedication to PNA’s mission of mutual aid and cultural preservation. National Secretary Alicja Kuklinska emphasized the importance of engaging younger generations while honoring tradition. A special awards and honors ceremony followed. The Medals of Recognition were presented to Rich Holda, Andrew Czerniewski, and Alan Zakrzewski, while Appreciation Awards were given to Maja Laska-Graham and Elizabeth (Ela) Lechowicz. Victoria Zolkiewicz-MacInnis received the Distinguished Service Award, and John Zielinski was honored with the Centennial Award. Lodge 513 was also presented with the PNA’s coveted “Golden Award,” accepted on behalf of all members.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an elegant dinner catered by Aqua Turf Club, with desserts including a beautiful cake from Alyssa’s Bakery and a creative red-and-white “Donut Wall” by Neil Bukowski. The event reflected the anniversary theme: “Honoring our past, saluting our present, embracing our future.” It was a joyful and meaningful evening that celebrated not only 125 years of history, but the strength, pride, and unity of the Polish-American community in Wallingford.
