The PNA Scholarship Award Program

Academic Year 2026-2027

Polish National Alliance scholarships provide financial assistance to current PNA members who are pursuing their educational goals.

The PNA recognizes the importance of supporting the educational goals of our members. Since 1978 we have awarded scholarships to help students offset the rising costs of higher education. The PNA Scholarship programs demonstrate our long-standing commitment to empowering future generations through education and leadership opportunities.

As a reminder, ALL PNA Scholarship applicants must have a minimum of $10,000 permanent insurance plan at the PNA to qualify. All PNA members with a qualifying policy currently enrolled as full-time college or university students are eligible to apply for a PNA Scholarship. Requirements vary by scholarship.

We encourage all eligible PNA members to apply during this year’s open application period. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on criteria that may vary by scholarship, including academic achievement, financial need, community service, participation in Polish cultural activities, and PNA volunteer work.

Higher Education Awards

Undergraduate Scholarship

The Undergraduate Scholarship Program is a merit-based award available to qualified PNA members who are rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors.

Edmund (Nasierowski) Nash Scholarship

The Edmund (Nasierowski) Nash PNA Scholarship is a needs-based award offered to qualified PNA members who are students at accredited institutions.

Walter Drozdal Legacy Fund

The Walter Drozdal Legacy Fund PNA Scholarship is a needs-based award for qualified PNA members aged 18–25 attending accredited institutions, who either have at least one parent who has been a member of the Polish National Alliance for 20 or more consecutive years, or who themselves have been a member for 20 or more consecutive years.

Walter & Bernice Kotapka Scholarship for High School Students

The Walter & Bernice Kotapka PNA Scholarship is a needs-based award offered to Catholic high school students in Cook County, Illinois. This scholarship is intended for high school students only and is not applicable to higher education.

Walter & Bernice Kotapka Scholarship for Polish School Students

The Walter & Bernice Kotapka PNA Scholarship is a needs-based award that supports Polish-language Catholic high school students in Cook County, Illinois. This scholarship is intended exclusively for Polish-language school support and is not applicable to higher education.
