Recognizing outstanding leaders in Polonia
On January 18, 2023, Dziennik Związkowy presented the Polish Teacher’s Association in America (Zrzeszenie Nauczycieli Polskich w Ameryce) with the 2022 Person of the Year (Człowiek Roku) award. Dziennik Związkowy annually recognizes an outstanding person or organization within the Polish community. For the second time, Dziennik Związkowy awarded the Person of the Year award to an organization.
This year, Dziennik Związkowy celebrates 115 years of publishing. As the oldest continuing Polish newspaper in the United States, Dziennik Związkowy has been loyally serving Polonia since 1908. The Person of the Year award is one way Dziennik Związkowy promotes outstanding leaders within the Polish community. Dziennik Związkowy named the Polish Teachers Association in America the 2022 Person of the Year for their pedagogical and patriotic work.
Polish teachers educate young generations of Poles and Americans of Polish descent on knowledge of the Polish language, history, geography, and culture. Thanks to the association’s efforts, many young Polish Americans acquire a deeper appreciation for their Polish heritage. Additionally, the Polish Teachers Association in America celebrates its 70th anniversary.
The Polish National Alliance believes in the impact of educating young Polish Americans about their roots. We are proud to see an organization recognized that so closely mirrors our mission of instilling a broader and deeper appreciation of Polish heritage in America.
Annually, the PNA proudly sponsors prizes for Dziennik Związkowy’s essay contest for Polish school students. Out of many participants, PNA awarded the top three students cash prizes at the gala. Congratulations to the winners!
Once again, congratulations to the Polish Teachers Association on earning the 2022 Person of the Year title. Sto lat and many, many more years of success to our educators!
