June 14th is Flag Day, a holiday that commemorates the official approval of a single American flag. For Polish Americans and PNA members, the American flag symbolizes freedom, democracy, and unity.
On June 14th 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution that the flag represented a free and independent country that would have 13 red and white stripes, with 13 white stars in a blue field that represented a new constellation. President Harry Truman signed a congressional order on August 3rd, 1949, which established June 14th as National Flag Day.
In recent months, the COVID-19 pandemic has had significant effects on our lives. The PNA stood strong to serve its members while protecting its employees. We are proud of our strength and stability as we continue to withstand difficult times since PNA’s founding in 1880.
The flag unites us all!
