Mark Brzezinski - U.S. Ambassador to Poland
On May 4, 2023, Ambassador from the United States to Poland Mark Brzezinski visited the Polish National Alliance in Chicago, IL, to meet with leaders of the Polish-American community. Representatives from Polish organizations across the city were in attendance. The meeting was organized by the President of the Polish American Congress and Polish National Alliance Frank Spula.
First, Ambassador Brzezinski discussed the bilateral relationship, Poland’s leadership on regional issues, and Poland’s role in the global response to Russia’s war on Ukraine.
“Poland is an indispensable NATO ally. Poland is safe and secure,” said Ambassador Brzezinski to the gathered representatives, “and that is thanks to you!”
Then, community leaders engaged in an extensive question-and-answer session with Ambassador Brzezinski. “The Polish-American community wants to send additional aid to Ukraine,” one community representative remarked. “How can we ensure it ends up in the right hands?”
“Please write to me. Our job is to make such efforts work. If you seek to do something to help, we have a team to assist.” the Ambassador responded, stating that the U.S. Embassy in Poland encourages all forms of American aid to Ukraine through channels in Poland.
Overall, community leaders appreciated Ambassador Brzezinski’s visit to Chicago and his willingness to answer their questions on various topics, such as economic development in Poland, educational partnerships between U.S-Poland, and the future reconstruction of Ukraine.
Ambassador Brzezinski visited the Polish National Alliance during a special week for Poles worldwide – the week of the anniversary of the May 3 Constitution’s ratification.
