Celebrating Polish-American Month with EO by Jerzy Skolimowski!

The Polish-American Heritage Month is here!

For the first time in Chicago, Polish National Alliance organizes a screening of films directed by Polish filmmakers!

Celebrating this special month for the Polish-American community, we want to encourage young people and adults to focus for a moment on Polish artists working in the film and television industry, which have achieved global recognition. Sharing their movies with Polonia creates awareness about their achievements that today are part of Polish heritage we all should know. 

This year we are focusing on Jerzy Skolimowski, a graduate of the prestigious Łódź Film School in Poland, who became an outstanding Polish director, screenwriter, playwriter, actor and painter.

Food & Beverages available for purchase. Polombia, a Polish-Colombian cuisine chefs will serve warm, and delicious food. The hot drinks will be available during the screening.

The film will be shown in the Polish National Alliance Memorial Garden, under the starry sky, so please bring blankets!

Skolimowski is the winner of the Golden Lion in Venice in 2016, who shared his talent, culture and history with the rest of the world. He is an extremely rich and colorful Polish artist who has come a long way to an Oscar nomination.

EO by Jerzy Skolimowski is an award-winning film in 2022 that received the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival! It was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards Ceremony.
